Recent data (Eurostat 2016) show that over one-fifth of EU households includes at least one immigrant. The number of transnational families within the EU is therefore significant, whether they are intra-EU, non-EU or mixed EU.

The PSEFS Project, led by five prominent European universities and high education institutions, and co-funded by the EU Justice Program, had its starting point from this awareness.

Among the activities of the PSEFS Project, the gathering and analysis of data on cross-border families has great importance. In this perspective, the contribution that social workers can provide, daily working with cross-border families, is fundamental.

On January 29, in San Severino Marche, at the Potenza Esino Musone Mountain Union, the first FOCUS Group with social workers of Regione Marche - ATS 16, 17 and 18, coordinated by Dr. Valerio Valeriani, took place.

The FOCUS Group activities concerned the innovations introduced by the European regulations on matrimonial property regimes and property consequences of registered partnerships (EU Regulations 2016/1103 and 2016/1104), which came into force on the same day of the meeting, as well as the criteria for identifying the case studies and the outlining of the objectives of the research.

At the FOCUS Group, led by Prof. Lucia Ruggeri and Dr. Roberto Garetto, of the PSEFS Project-Unicam, participated: Chiara Olivari, Eleonora Merli, Nicoletta Budinigattai, Fabiola Cinti, Anna Benigni, Assunta Lucarelli, Jessica G. Falcioni, Romina Costantini, Federica Bergamaschi, Elisa Marucci, Lucia Rocci, Silvia Gabrielli, Catia Zacconi, Benedetta Lancioni e Laura Luciani.
